Transcription termination is one of the most essential processes required for accurate gene expression involving identification of a specific signal sequence in the transcribing gene. In prokaryotes Rho-factor is one of the two transcription termination mechanisms. Transcription biology group at CDFD has identified few mutations (Chalissery et al, communicated), which have been found to show defective transcription termination both in vivo and in vitro. Using molecular dynamics as a tool we have been investigating the time evolution and time averaged structural properties of rho mutants.
