Project: Computational Analysis of the Effects of Alternative Splicing on Protein-Protein Interaction Networks
People Involved

Dr. Anupam Sinha
Senior Research Fellow

In my studies on eukaryotic PPINs I am trying to decipher the reasons behind the high connectivity of “hub” nodes. To explain the promiscuity (w.r.t. the number of interactions) of these nodes a new paradigm has been introduced. It was found that the high degree nodes in the eukaryotic PPINs on an average have higher number of splice variants.

I have also worked in collaboration with other labs in CDFD to determine the reasons behind the deleterious mutations of the ARSB gene which lead to Maroteaux Lamy syndrome.
