Bioinformatics
at CDFD is the national node
for European Molecular Biology network (EMBnet)
as well as for Asia Pacific Bioinformatics Network (APBioNet) for India. This centre is
also part of Sun High Performance Computing Grid and is also recognized
as Sun Centre of Excellence in Medical
Bioinformatics. This centre provides bioinformatics services in the
form of browsing biomolecular sequence databanks, macromolecular
structure databanks, genome and other useful databases. It provides
services for the comparison and analysis of sequence/structure/genome
data, Protein 3-D modelling and molecular graphics. The Node also
conducts National and International level training for the use of
commercial software such as TCS Biosuite, CCG MOE, GCG and Accelrys
Discovery Studio.
