PROJECTS

New Ph.D. projects
Funding: CSIR NMITLI (2005-2007)

Mapping the molecular pathways in Plasmodium falciparum.
Comparative Genome analysis of Plasmodium falciparum and other model organism,
Experimental approaches such as GST pulldown, Two hybrid, Phage display etc to find Protein-Protein Interactions and GFP fusion approach to study intracellular traficking pathway of Plasmodium proteins to the organells using Confocal microscopy

Plasmodium Genome Annotation Based on Protein Fold Recognition and Experimental Validation.
Protein folds are considered more conserved that protein sequences. Therefore we are interested in knowing: Can we identify and annotate Plasmodium falciparum genomes using fold recognition? How do we experimentaly validate such predictions using experimental techniques like UV/Fluroscence/CD/Mass spectroscopy?
